William (Bill) Russell Dowd
I love photography and have enjoyed it ever since I was a young boy. My constant assignment was capturing the beauty of God’s creation. I was blessed with having a darkroom in my home and I used it often. Growing up in Alaska, beauty was all around and it was easy to reach that beauty by bicycle.
I was married in Alaska and had 1 child. We continued to live there until 1995 when an answer to prayer led us down to the great Northwest.
I lost my wife in December of 2007 to cancer. The next 2 years would be full of change and adjustments. During this time, I purchased studio strobe lights and equipment and began to learn the techniques of photographing people. Also, I retired early from television after 36 years in the business and focused my time working as the Information Technology Director at Portland Christian Schools.
On January 1, 2010, I started William Russell Photography as a means to supplement my income. Currently, I do a limited amount of portrait photography and shoot landscapes when I’m out hiking or traveling. Please take a few moments to look at the community page and read what my customers have said about me.
I look forward to working with you to make your memories special. Not just the memories in print, but also the memory of working with me to capture your special moments. E-mail is the best way to contact me: firstname.lastname@example.org.
